SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Various types of Outreach Medical Camps with free distribution of necessary medicines.

Other than being a specialty hospital with state-of-art medical facilities, to bring health care services to communities and people who are unable to utilize present services due to inaccessibility or socio-economic reasons, Matri Bhavan is also involved in several Community Welfare Activities providing health care to urban & rural mothers and children among the underprivileged families all over West Bengal with most modern facilities by a dedicated team of doctors, nurses & other supporting staffs covering different districts of West Bengal and urban slums of Kolkata.

General Medical Camps

Regular health check-up camps are conducted at intervals, offering free medical consultations and distribution of essential medicines to underserved communities.

School Health Camps

Health camps are organized in schools focusing on medical check-ups, health and hygiene education, and early identification of ailments in children.

Mass Detection Camps

Specialized camps are held for the early detection, treatment, counseling, and follow-up of various conditions including:

Thalassemia among adolescents.
Communicable & non-communicable diseases among adolescents and senior citizens.

Cancer Care Camps

Awareness and screening programs for Breast, Cervical, and Oral cancer among women are conducted. These camps also teach Self Breast Examination techniques for early detection.

Daily Home Visits

Our dedicated healthcare team makes regular home visits to:

Discuss health issues with families.
Identify and refer high-risk cases.
Ensure follow-ups and support in scheduled areas.

Health Awareness & Education

Continuous community-based education programs are conducted to promote awareness on:

Pregnancy Danger Signs, Antenatal & Postnatal Care, Newborn Care, Immunization, Family Planning, and Government Health Schemes.
Malnutrition, Hygiene & Sanitation, Safe Drinking Water.
Prevention of Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid, and other locally prevalent diseases.

Social Welfare & Basic Needs Support

Essential items such as nutritious food, health kits, clothing, blankets, and mosquito nets are distributed among slum dwellers and needy families to meet their basic survival needs.

Referral & Free Treatment at Matri Bhavan Hospital

High-risk or complicated cases identified during community outreach are referred to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan Hospital. Based on need, patients receive:
